ARTIFICIAL GRASS NEED TO BRUSH
Just like natural grass, areas of artificial grass that experience heavy foot traffic can become flattened or depressed over time. To maintain the appearance and texture, regularly brushing the fibres with a stiff brush will help lift them and restore their upright position. If certain areas are used frequently, it’s particularly important to brush them regularly to prevent the yarn from becoming permanently flattened or split.
While imprints from garden furniture or foot traffic will naturally lift over time, a gentle brushing of the fibres can speed up the process. Additionally, using washed, dried silica sand or ZeoFill as an infill can help keep the grass fibres standing tall and preserve their bounce and stability.
Proper installation typically includes a stabilising infill of silica sand or ZeoFill to maintain the fibres’ shape and structure. Failure to maintain the infill and brush the lawn can lead to issues such as matting and, in some cases, may require the complete replacement of the artificial grass surface.
